Traffic Calming

You may have noticed the traffic survey being conducted in Malfort Road; this has taken 2 years from the first request being made to the Council Transport Committee where we requested urgent traffic calming action in all our streets. I hope to report back soon as to the Council findings.

P13 Bus

The Council have agreed to support the changes needed to divert the bus along Pytchley Road in both directions. After a survey is complete in June, it has been recommended that two new bus stops are to be built and the traffic lights are to be changed funding for this has been made by TFL. We were informed at a meeting held last month in May that the timetable is set for December this year for the "all change". I will be updating you all as progress is made.

Denmark Park Stone

We have just seen the creation of our Community Garden in Bromar Road. Kindly arranged and funded by The Camberwell Community Councils budget for "Cleaner Greener Safer". We have had some problem with the fence as a council officer forgot that the road was on a hill when ordering the fence this had led to a delay of two months. We intend having an opening ceremony where all the local community will be invited.

I must report that a sad person(s) decided to take many of our plants from the garden over the first two weeks that they were first planted out. But for the unknown person who has replaced the plants with what look like sunflowers we would have a very bare garden, I have included some photos of the construction and one of the blank areas after the theft of the plants for you to look at.

Street Party

A street party has been long overdue as the event did not occur last year; several residents have requested a street party this year. Volunteers are always vital so please do let us know if you can help organise before and on the day. We could organise the opening of the Garden and Stone at the same time.

Hope you all have a warm summer as it’s been a bit wet locally recently.
