Freewheelers Workshops DRAMA We run DRAMA workshops. These take place on Tuesdays 12.45-2.45pm at The Bridge in Leatherhead, Surrey. People are most welcome to bring a picnic and have lunch with us beforehand.
DANCE We also have DANCE workshops on Thursdays (10.00 - 12.00). These workshops also take place at The Bridge. No experience is necessary, just an interest and a willingness to work with others.
MEDIA We have started a new media group on Thursdays (10.00-15.00) with a few spaces left; workshops continue till the summer. We also have some places in our TuesdayMEDIA Sessions (10.00-16.30). We would particularly welcome young people to join these groups who already do or want to write and produce their own films. Come for a taster session and see how you like it. You may like to come for just two or three hours.
For more information and to book a place please ring Viv Colvill on 01932 860950.
You may also contact Pete Messer for further information on our new workshops. Also see News.
About us... The Freewheelers Theatre Company brings disabled and non-disabled actors and supporters, production teams and the local community together.
We use theatre and dance, wheelchair and voicebox technology, multimedia, animations, puppets and shadows to create innovative work. We like to work collaboratively, surprise people and challenge perceptions. We dont like barriers, rules or conventions. We welcome new members!
The company currently has fifteen members, an artistic director, our administrator/fundraiser, a dance teacher, a volunteer video editor, a volunteer filmmaker, and a media trainer.
We like to work with volunteers and are lucky with the type of support we get. Would you like to volunteer ?
SOCIAL ENTERPRISE We recently became a social enterprise and are an integrated company. We are interested to know if there is any opportunity for us to work with you in the future. For example, we can:
* produce issue-based dramas (as theatre or video) to assist with training, particularly on equalities and inclusion.
* produce short training films, featuring interviews, which involve working in a closer and more collaborative way with the production team.
* develop short performance pieces, mixing theatre and video, to feature at conferences and other events.
We work in a very flexible way, developing material closely with our partners to meet relevant timescales and budgets. As an inclusive social enterprise, we hope you will feel it appropriate to work with us in the future.
